PaAg Cross Stitch (or Passive Aggressive Cross Stitch) came out of two very different conversations.
A former co-worker once called me passive aggressive. I’ve been called a lot of things, but that was a new one for me. Maybe I’m passive aggressive or maybe I’m a Black woman from the south who learned to get her point across with out causing herself harm. I’m not saying it’s great, but that’s a conversation between me and my therapist.
The other, much more fun, conversation was with my Best Frahn, Jan, on the occasion of her birthday. I had cross stitched her a pattern from the wonderful book Cross Stitch the Golden Girls by Haley Pierson-Cox. This particular cross stitch had a quote, “Eat Dirt and Die, Trash” surrounded by hearts and flamingoes! So I told Jan that I could either send her the cross stitch or I could send it anonymously to the enemy of her choice. Thus, PaAg Cross Stitch was born.
